The University of Applied Sciences Avans-Fontys, faculty of law is therefore ‘justifiably the best’ and the top provider of legal studies in the Southern Netherlands. It is the product of a joint venture between the two major universities of applied sciences, Fontys and Avans.
The University of Applied Sciences Avans-Fontys, faculty of law , was the first to establish a Bachelor Studies in Law programme, back in 2002. Since then, the institution has developed into a successful, independent university of applied sciences, fully focused on training students to become Bachelors of Laws. Our enthusiastic team is experienced in the field of education and also possessing the necessary practical legal experience. The course is offered at two locations: Tilburg and ’s-Hertogenbosch.
Bachelor Studies in Law
Bachelor Studies in Law is a practical law programme that focuses on gaining a thorough knowledge of the legislation. The curriculum also includes subjects like management and research, and students are also encouraged to improve their communication-, social- and ICT- skills. Our law graduates have therefore enjoyed a broad-based education and, as such, are able to fill the gap between the academic, specialist lawyer and the legal assistant who has been educated to intermediate vocational level. Once graduated you are a Bachelor of Laws and you will be entitled to carry the title LLB.
New entrants in February
The academic year starts in September. The campus in Tilburg also welcomes new entrants for the Bachelor Studies in Law from 1 February. This means that students will also complete their studies in February in four years’time. The curriculum is the same as for students who start in September.
Students can also follow the study programme on a part-time basis. Detailed information on this can be obtained at the faculty. The part-time programme starts each academic year in September and is only offered in Tilburg.
